Gamaliel Rodriguez (b. 1977) is a multy-disiplinary artist who focuses in the studies of social-realism and actual events: wars, consumerism, worldwide politics, and the global environment. He is constantly  studying  the conditions of social-realism in terms of how it affects us as individuals or as a society and how we react to these issues. His ideas are based on  the concepts of re-appropiation, re-interpretation and deconstruction of messages based on Roland Barthes and his analysis of Semiotic. Born and based in Puerto Rico, Rodriguez-Ayala obtained his masters degree in visual  arts at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Kent, England (2005) and a B.A. in visual arts and comnunications at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazon in Puerto Rico (2004).
